Pros: Image quality is one of the best for this category of camera
Cons: if you take many pix's, consider moving on to a Digital SLR, which I am.
The Bottom Line: If you want a good camera at an afforadble price this is the camera for you. If you are looking for more tools then move on to a Digital SLR.
mynor03's Full Review: Canon PowerShot SD850 IS / IXUS 950 IS Digital Cam...
The canon SD850is Digitial Elph is an amazing camera. It delivers when needed. This camera packs an 8megapixel shot in a small frame. It delivers a whopping 4x optical zoom, which is neat and rare for these type of cameras. It also has an image stabalizer, which works wonders for those with shaky hands, which I do have a problem with. It also has face detection, which is not as advanced as some of the new cameras which can detect if people are smiling, but it works and gets the job done. The picture quality on this camera is superb compared to other cameras in this category. I have shot and printed over 1200 pictures with this camera and all have been very good, just as good as some of the lower end Digital SLR. From action pictures to family portraits. I love the fact that it comes with a manual dial, which most cameras in this catergory do not have, they either have preset dials or auto. This is the second canon camera I have owned and has been a blessing in disguise if you ever need a quick shoot anywhere. The camera can use an SDHC card up to 16gb, I have used an 8gb without any problems. Oh yeah you can also record video on this camera, it is very good considering this is a camera and not a camcorder. So image quality is 4 out 5, can't give it a 5 when there's Digital SLR's out there. Video quality is 3 out 5, its way better than camera phones but cannot compete with camcorders.
