ccn158's Full Review: Canon EOS-1V Body Only 35mm Film Camera
Being a journalist, I've been in close proximity with many cameras. But none as good as the Canon EOS 1-V. You see, this simply is possibly one of the best in the world.
In fact, I'm not even sure where to start, as there are simply so many good points about it. Do you want to hear them? OK...
First things first, this camera simply is fast. It's got a 1/8000sec shutter speed, and can take photos at ten frames a second, literally meaning that your average roll of film can be spent in just over three seconds. It's great for photos of high speed events, and the picture quality is perfect.
Helping the picture quality is the advanced autofocus, which in my opinion, is state of the art. A three year old could take brilliant snaps with this camera, and that isn't a lie!
In fact you could trust your dog with this camera as it is so tough! It's made of a magnesium alloy, which also renders it electromagnetically safe, and if that isn't enough, it's insides are coated with die-cast aluminium, and that's coated with glass-fibre resin. The camera is almost indestructible!
There's lots of accesories out there for this, including zoom lenses, stands and the like, but I'm happy with mine as it is.
The only drawback - the price - I paid the equivalent of $3000 for mine.
But if you're a journalist or take photos for a living - this is essential.
