I received this for a gift. I had a Nikon that seemed great but with in 6 months it started to slowly break ( battery door broke off paint started to chip off). So i received this one and have had no problems at all with it in the last year that i have had it. There are so many different functions to use and play with. I use mine primarily for recreational use, which means taking pictures of my kids. Mine came with the 18-55mm efs lens. I have had no issues with that eather there have been a few instances that i have wanted a larger (zoom) lense but this is a great starting point. I am by no means a professional just trying to catch the memories so this is the perfect camera its very easy to use and learn how to use slowly it does have a full auto just in case you are like me and not quite sure what you are doing and still want great clear prints. They prints even on my home computer are beautiful. I don't know how I ever lived with out my canon. The only down side is that it has a difficult time taking night shots. I would recommend if you are think you want to take allot of evening or low light pictures I would recommend getting an external flash as this might help. Also the image review screen is flush with the back of the camera and very easy to scratch they do make covers for the screens.
