Canon's new Elph camera is a great buy for the amateur photographer. In no way is the camera groundbreaking as far as the quality of pictures is concerned, yet it is groundbreaking in other ways.
First of all, as you already know, the Elph has a very sleek design. It can fit into about any pocket you can think of. It's also very stylish, so you won't look like a nerd when taking pictures of... a McDonalds in Japan for example. The Japanese may say, "What is this idiot doing?", yet they may also say, "Damn, now that is a nice camera."
Another good quality of the new Elph is its ease of use. Despite its small size, the buttons are all visible and not too small that you have to use a toothpick to press. Yet, because of its small size, the camera must be lacking something, and that is features. Its basically just a standard camera, an extremely small standard camera, which takes good quality pictures, not great. There are real focus features or extra features which may allow the photographer to take great features. This is just one of the drawbacks of an extremely small camera though.
Other than that this camera is fun to use, easy to use, and very cool looking!
