If you're used to big, bulky 35mm cameras this one will take a while to get used to. There is quite a bit of automation in how this camera works, and its initial setup is rather complicated. After one becomes acclamated to this camera it is really a joy to use and it will provide several years of high-quality photos for you.
I have a few minor complaints with this camera that one should be aware of, because they haven't been mentioned in most of the other Epinions. First, there really is no easy way to know what kind of film is currently in the camera at a certain time. You will have to remember if it's 200, 400, or 800 speed on your own. Additionally, The exposure counter counts up, indicating the number of pictures that have already been shot on that particular roll of film. You don't know how many are left, which would be nice considering there are 15, 25 and 40 exposure rolls and one might use all three sizes for different occasions. Third, the buttons are just way too small. To turn it on and off you are supposed to use a little pin attached to the strap, but more often than not it turns on by itself in my purse because other objects hit it.
Overall, the picture quality from this camera would be considered excellent for all practical purposes. Sure, if you were having a wedding or a first communion or a graduation you might want to have a more professional photograph taken, but you will rarely have fuzzy pictures and misprints with this camera. This camera would probably not be a good choice for a student or a beginning photographer because of its simplicity. It would be best to use a more traditional camera that requires more work in focusing and fine-tuning so one can gain practice in taking a variety of photos. Once one becomes a more seasoned photo enthusiast, this camera would be a good choice to add to one's arsenal of photographic equipment, but it should not be one's only camera.
