Pros: Easy to use, wonderful picture, light, reliable, fun.

Cons: Microphone is omni-directional and picks up a lot of sound from the rear.

The Bottom Line: I recommend it to anyone. It is a great value!

I purchased this camera to provide DV for a documentary. It is working great. I love the quality of the picture, the ease of use, and the wonderful lens. I shoot a great deal of film in AV priority so I can control the depth of field. With the 20x lens, this works very well! So far, so good!

I love the interface (fire wire for DV, USB for photos) that was plug and play with my computer. I have used the camera to act as a digital storage unit where I "test" preliminary edits by downloading them to the DV tape and then playing them on a 47" 16:9 tv via S-video. It works great, and I do not have to burn a DVD until I am absolutely ready!
