susannah1's Full Review: Canon GL2 Mini DV Camcorder
I love this camera. I bought it to shoot a documentary. It's easy to use, small and lightweight, with audio inputs for professional sound. It delivers a beautiful picture. Unfortunately you have to white balance every time you turn on the camera. But technically that's my only issue. I've heard that it has a lot of problems with the tape eject function, but I have not experienced that.
Getting my rebate is another issue. I sent my rebate info in through Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation(as Canon requested), including the original UPC code. Yet six weeks later Canon had no record of my info. Then I faxed it in- still no record. Then a woman took the info over the phone, and said fax in a copy of the UPC. I did. Then when I called in, they said they need the original UPC, which of course I don't have because I mailed it to them in the first place! The rebate department is not only inept, but also down right rude. Now I've taken it to corporate headquarters. I hope they can remedy the situation. When you spend over two thousand on a camera, accessories, etc., you expect to get your measly $250 rebate!
