I own a Canon PowerShot A540 digital camera. It is easy to use and I love it. It takes great pictures and was worth the $150 that I paid for it. I wanted a digital camera to take place of my film camera and I get better quality pictures than I do with film.
Description/Performance
Its a small silver camera that says Canon on the side. The lens doesnt open up until you turn the camera on. The on/off button is on the top of the camera and has a dial to choose which function you want to use. On the back it has a very nice LCD screen so you can see your pictures clearly. It also says how many pictures you can take and how more you can take. Its small and lightweight and easy to take anywhere.
It doesnt save pictures on the camera itself like some cameras do. With this one you have to have a memory card which was included. The memory card size is 16M and holds about 30 pictures. I bought another memory card for it so I can take more pictures at one time. The memory card that this camera takes is only $25 for 1G size.
This camera has a video function that makes small videos, it has the auto function, portrait function, night function to take pictures at night and that works great as well. It has red eye reduction and an LCD display to see your pictures and is easy to scroll through the pictures of the ones you have taken. It has 4X optical zoom and is 6.0 mega pixels. It has an automatic flash. It doesnt come with batteries and doesnt need any special kind. I use rechargeable batteries and the camera tells me when my batteries are low.
My Opinion
At night this camera takes really well pictures as well. If lighting is dark when you take a picture your picture may not come out the greatest. The night function really only makes a difference if it's really night use or really dark but you can definitely take night pictures with this camera. But overall I would recommend this camera to anyone.
I was worried that I would have problems going from nothing but using film to digital but Im glad I did. I take a lot of pictures and I love using this camera and I am amazed how well my pictures turn out when I get them printed. I give this camera a four out of five
rating myself.
Price/Availability
I bought this camera at Kmart for $150.00. I also bought the extra memory card there for $25.00. I have also seen this same camera at Best Buy as well.
