Pros: Takes quick pictures with good results. Has lenses addons.
Cons: High ISO speeds make 'grainy' pictures. Requires two AA batteries. Size may make it 'non-pocketable'.
The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this camera because of its ease of use and its flexibility. Also again with the response time of the camera being rather quick compared with other non-professional cameras.
funky_dung's Full Review: Canon PowerShot A570 IS Digital Camera
The IS standing for 'Image Stabilization.' What drew me to the A570 was the ability to take numerous pictures in quick sequence (especially when review is turned off.) With a script, i'm able to take pictures of lighter sparks in nice detail or even of lightning. The camera itself is nice, having a 4x optical zoom, 7.1 mega pixels, the ability to add new lenses such as a telephoto lens or macro lens and a large lcd screen, for a camera. A few things though I wouldn't mind to be different and they are: (1) At high ISO speeds (800 - 1600) the pictures come out grainy which can be annoying and will ruin an otherwise good shot (At lower ISO speeds everything is fine). (2) This camera takes AA batteries. It may not be so bad for some, since AA batteries can be bought cheaply (hah!). You can also buy rechargeable batteries. And (3) the size. It's a bit larger than some pocket sized cameras, but still fits in your pocket... with a slight bulge. The A570 has numerous settings for night shooting, day shooting, underwater shooting (a waterproof case being sold separately), video mode, manual, and program, just to name a few. Video recording has two standard modes to let you record at either 640x480 or 320x240 pixels with either 30 or 15 frames per second. Fast Frame Rate movie mode lets you record at 320x240 pixels and 60 fps. All in all, in my opinion this camera is a good buy.
