This was the clincher (Reply to this comment)

I have been considering buying a digital camera for some time and looked in all the usual places such as Consumer Reports.
I wanted to buy a digital camera with the intention of never having to get another one and still have enough camera to do almost anything new I might learn in the future. After reading Howard's review on the G3, I knew I had found the camera I wanted. I have since that time purchased one and have not been disappointed.
Thanks Howard!

I think you should start your own little journal of reviews and publish it. You write such great reviews!
Louisville had 3 weeks of rain???? How did you get an Epinions windbreaker? Gee! I'd like one.

Again, another Great Howard Creech review (Reply to this comment)
by sweeper, in Electronics
Howard,
One of the consistently good and useful parts of your reviews is introductory background on the product and its context. This leads the reader into the body of your review and puts him in the appropriate frame-of-mind.
Another predictably well-done part is an actual story on the product's use in the field.
If prospective camera reviewers were required to read a camera review by you before posting their first, the quality of the Electronics section would rise immensely. Thanks for providing these superlative examples.

Great Review, As Always! (Reply to this comment)

Howard, thanks for posting this juicy first review of the G3! This is the camera I've been waiting for, and I'm thrilled to find a review of it from you. I have been thinking about upgrading to a 4 or 5 megapixel unit from my 2 megapixel Epson 850Z. Sounds as though I should indeed give the G3 some serious thought!
Thanks again for this excellent write-up.

Howard, I really like the anecdotes you work into your reviews; they really stage your writing in a warm thought provoking presentation. Now I have to go out and get my hands on a G3!

Hope the weather stays nice there. Ours is turning rainy soon. Anywho, you may be vaguely excited to know I'm planning a VCR review later this week of an unreviewed VCR! Should be a riot.

As Always (Reply to this comment)

Hi Howard,
Another excellent job, I had the good fortune of looking at a G3 about a month ago shortly after the pre-production model was released. It wasn't enough experience with the camera to write a detailed review though and I completely agree with your views on the camera.
The G2's where I work are basically gone but I agree that the G3 has had excellent improvements made to it and were I given the option to switch my G2 for a G3 I would certainly do so.
Thanks again !
