I have a larger digital SLR camera, so I was looking for a smaller digital camera to take with me when I dont want to have the hassle of lugging a big camera around. Then I found the Canon Powershot SD400. It was one of the smaller cameras around when I bought it and it is a great size! You can just slip it in your purse or pocket and you are ready to go. It has a quick startup and takes fairly good pictures for its size and quality. Unless you are planning on printing out large prints, this is good for anyone who wants regular photos or even 5x7s or 8x10s (depending on how much zoom you use). As others have stated, it is annoying that there is no battery indicator it only starts to indicate once the battery is about to die, so it is good to have a spare battery as backup. I have taken quite a few good macro pictures (like of insects or flowers) even for this being a smaller type of camera. The software that comes with isnt the best to use, but it is decent for uploading the photos and movies onto your computer. Also, its good because the movies are fairly good quality (they dont really blur if you move the camera around) and the sound is decent.
