pdboilermaker's Full Review: Canon PowerShot SD400 / IXUS 50 Digital Camera
This is my 3rd digital camera, my Nikon flash died after about 100,000 shots and it was replaced with a Cannon A75, while on a recent business trip to the south, someone must have read Epinions about how good of a camera that was so they stole it right off of the conference. needless to say,I was very disappointed that I had lost my camera but the company I was visiting did allow me to purchase a repalcement and give them bill.
That being said, I was very delighted with my old Cannon, but my friend has one of the ultra compact Casio jobs so I decided I was going to buy one of them. As I looked at the vast camera selection at HH Gregg's low and behold, clutch the family pearls, there it was a Cannon (the brand I wanted) sized like the Casio (the size I wanted) so I bought it.
I have about 200 pictures under the lens now and they have all been comparable to my much bigger A75 and to my Nikon except it has a much more portable size and shape. Although I dont smoke, it is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, very convient for lugging in a pocket or anywhere else.
It seems to be a fairly rugged which is good because mostly I use it to take pictures of my boys playing football, basketball, baseball, riding our quads in the mud etc.
Battery life seems to be as good as the 4 AA batteries used by most cameras but the replacement batteries are more expensive, a trade off for thier small size no doubt.
The feature that I have enjoyed most is the cable that comes packed with it that will allow you to hook it up to RCA plugs and watch the pictures as a slide show on your TV.
Heres to another hit by Cannon:-)
Well, slightly 4 months have passed and the flash went out so i was going to have to either have the camera repaired or send it back to Cannon for warranty work (which would take about 10 days). Luckily, I had purchased it from HH Gregg in Lexington Kentucky and they let me exchange my little beauty for the newer SD 450 despite being passed the 90 days. I love you Mr. Gregg!!!!!
