Pros: Few and far between. As of Nov 2006 absolutely NO PROS.
Cons: After you get the loan and are in the system, they treat you like crap.
The Bottom Line: Can't rate website access because they discontinued it. Overall experience is F-. Avoid at all cost. I now hear people have problems getting title after loan is paid off.

NOVEMBER 2006 UPDATE
The saga continues. In early August Capital One actually was able to set up the account for on-line payment. And, I made a payment for September. I began to think that maybe, just maybe, there was some small possibility that Capital One had finally gotten it right.
Unfortunately I was wrong. In late October I tried to log on to my new "online" access to make my payment. I had carefully kept my user name and password but it wouldn't work. Went through the drill for resetting the account if you lost a password. Wouldn't work even though I double and triple checked to make sure I was entering answers to the security questions accurately. Still would not work.
Finally called. Could not get a live human being literally for two days. Kept cutting me off or telling me no one was available. Third day I got someone at Capital One. They told me that online access to accounts including payments was being discontinued. I could, however make a payment over the phone and they would waive the $8.00+ fee. How gracious.
Now what kind of knucklehead company in 2006 is cutting back on internet access instead of enhancing it. This institution of CAPITAL ONE AUTO FINANCE is literally the most inefficient, consumer-UNFRIENDLY organization I have ever dealt with.
BONUS UPDATE: As if this were bad enough, I tried to access a Capital One credit card account that I've had for literally ten years and never had a payment problem and have almost never been past due. Couldn't log in. Why? They told me (also took three calls) because they were converting their online credit card access to a "new system." It is just unreal. My advice is and remains: STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING CAPITAL ONE.
July 2006 UPDATE.
To show you how stupid Capital One is I had the following recent experience. I sent them a Check on Tuesday July 25th. The account was overdue so I paid two months to bring it up to date.
On July 28 they called twice (I could tell from the caller ID). Both times I answered the phone but the caller hung up.
On July 29 I got a call at 4pm, spoke with he rep and told her I sent a double payment. Gave her the check number and date.
Later, around 8pm on the 28th another rep called and I went through the same drill complaining as to why they needed to keep calling after I spoke with them and told them about the payment.
Saturday July 29th another call. Same drill. Told me to call on Monday the 31st to see if the payment had arrived.
Sunday morning July 30 another call from the same damn Capital One phone number (972-244-0053). When I answered I got the same "click" sound of a hang up.
Let's assume this company thought that after making two years worth of payments on a three year loan I suddenly became a deadbeat. What in the devil does a call on Sunday accomplish when I spoke with them on Saturday? There is absolutely nothing that could or would have changed. Between Saturday and Sunday.
This is nothing other than either TOTAL INCOMPETENCE or pure HARASSMENT. Capital One Auto Finance is and EVIL company.
==============================================
Absolutely have gotten to hate this division of the Capital One empire. Have two of their credit cards no problem. I have another loan that I pay with an automatic deduction. No problem here either. I have a car loan that is handled by what they call a "custom loan divisIon" in Long Beach California.
These people (in the Long Beach Calif loan division) are beyond any doubt the rudest, nastiest and annoying people I have ever met in an financial business.
If you are a few days late on a bill they start calling. But, if you're at work you seek the numbers on your caller ID box, but they NEVER leave a message. Then if you do answer and tell them why you were late and that you just sent a check a day or two before, they take it all down. Then, they call you later the same day or the next day.
When I asked "are you going to call me every day?" I was told, "yes, we'll call you every day until we get the check." This for an account that was only a few days past due because I was out of town due to a death in the family.
I will never use Capital One Auto Finance again for anything.
Disgusting people.
