Pros: Advertised low rates. Don't know if they deliver.
Cons: Non-existant customer serviced coupled with the fact they have LIED on several issues.
The Bottom Line: Avoid. As you can see by other review these people lie and even if you have a good buying experience they have very poor servicing.

| iautox's Full Review: Capital One Auto Finance |
I applied online with this 'outfit' via Costco. They had the lowest interest rate I could find.
I'm 50 years old with spotless credit. I pulled my three credit reports prior to applying and one of my credit scores just to see what it was. Experian showed a 917 score out of 950. I only have a 1st mortgage, some credit cards that I pay in full monthly, and a small auto loan that I will payoff as soon as I sell my free and clear current car. Even without the payoff of this existing loan my debt to gross income ratio is under 20%.
Should be a shoe in for an approval right? Wrong. I was turned down. They didn't even have the decency to call or email me. I had to call them to make sure they even recieved the application.
When I called them they said that it was against the law to tell me why I was turned down and that they would send it to me in writing in 7 to 14 days. I have been in banking for over 25 years and am currently a Senior Commercial Credit Office for a bank. Therefore I know that this is a LIE! They can verbally inform an applicant why his application was rejected - they just chose not to.
I asked to speak with a manager. I thought there must be some kind of mistake that would be relatively easy to straighten out. They said a supervisor would not be able to tell me why I was turned down either. I said fine just let me talk to one. None was available. They said one would call me back in 24 to 48 hours.
I then pulled my wife's (she was the joint applicant) three credit reports and found no problems on them. She had a FICO score of 795 so there were no surprises their. What was interesting was that there was no inquiry from Capital One on here report. I thought AH HA, they pulled someone else's report and there was bad stuff on it.
I then call Capital One back. I waited for their call for well over 48 hours. They assured me that has pulled the correct credit reports. I told them there was no inquiry from them on my wife's report. They said sometimes it takes a week or so to show. LIE number two. In my vast experience inquires have ALWAYS shown immediately. All the managers were in a meeting, of course. They promised me a manager would call back by the end of business. That was 3 days ago.
Perhaps she meant when Capital One goes out of business rather than by the end of the day. They can't go out of business too soon to please me.
I'm sure that a few minutes of human attention would straighten out whatever stupid mistake has been made, but these guys just aren't up for it. As one other review wrote: Capital One is about as appealing as a 'poop flavored lolly pop'.
