Capital One Auto Finance Provides NONCustomer Service

Pros: They cash our check in an average time
Cons: Misapplied payments and they do not respond to your questions - awful to deal with.
The Bottom Line: They need to be audited, correct each & every loan they handle, to be fined, & to give fine money to the consumers affected by their shady business practices!

I have been trying to get Capital One to correct a misapplied payment since July 2006. For some unknown reason - they applied all of our payment to principal - none towards interest. Then the next payment we made they charged us interest of over 60 days!!!!!!!!!!!! I wrote them over 9 times and they ignored all of my written requests. Even as I write this today - they have not answered my questions - nor have they corrected the misapplied payment. I even called the banking regulators - however, since Capital One is not a bank - they cannot help me. Does anyone out there know who we can complain to about Capital One Auto Finance? As our balance goes down, they are taking more interest each month out of our payment - even though our balance is lower (they do not respond to questions on how they calculate out interest charges per payment)????????? In Oct 2007 they took $103.99, Nov $97.11, Dec $79.21, Jan $106.18, Feb $80.17 and March 2008 $85.89 for interest!!!!!!! We are not past due - in fact we don't owe a payment until Oct 2008!!!!!!!!!!
They need to be audited and made to correct each and every misapplied payment and pay a fine to each & every consumer they messed up their account!
They are AWFUL to deal with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
