Wow, where do I start with this cracker jack group of folks. I recently lost my vehicle due to a flood, and due to the loss of my gap insurance, there was going to be a remaining balance left over that I'm required to pay. Sounds simple? yeah if you're not Capital One.
I received a letter from capital one stating that the funds from my insurance company had been applied to the account, and that I needed to call an 800 number and get my remaining balance. Only problem is, when I call raj in banglapour india he has no idea why i received that letter, and all he can give me is the full remaining balance without my insurance companies pay out. So I let it go, and a week and some days later I receive another letter stating that I have not yet paid the remaining balance, and that if I don't make payments on it soon I may default. So I give raj a call again and he has no idea what I'm talking about.
I decide that simply calling the 800 number is not going to get me anywhere. So i google capital one auto finance and get a local number for their office in plano. I call it and I actually get a real live american on the other end of the phone. I tell her about my problem and she assures me that it's no problem, and that it will be sorted out. She asks me to hold while she transfers me to the total loss department. Sounds like we're getting somewhere. 2 minutes later, Raj picks up the phone, and the fun starts all over again.
