Re: Filtered Water? (Reply to this comment)

Honesty, I haven't tried the water by itself. It doesn't really work that way. I agree that bottled water is better. This filter won't remove progressively smaller particles like a high quality system, it is a simple charcoal filter primarily to get the chlorine out which is the number one taste killer in coffee. I suspected a Brita works a little better, but that's just another step.

Some of the Nissan mugs tend to have plastic parts that get filled with water in the diswasher, only to leak all over you when you drink out of them. Washing them in the dishwaser won't hurt them, but it will get you all wet. No such problem with this carafe.

Filtered Water? (Reply to this comment)

I have tried several water filters and none have compared to the bottled water I buy at the water store. It's inconvenient, but worth it.
I just wanted to know how the filter compares to a real filtration system.

nice details (Reply to this comment)

I'd actually hesitated to purchase one of these machines because I was concerned the pot was not dishwasher-safe, which is the case with most of the insulated coffee cups/carafes. Thanks for sharing your coffee biz insight.
