marylydia's Full Review: Jura-Capresso MT500 10-Cup Coffee Maker
The design is beautiful. Surface is smart and very easy to clean. The water resevoir top is wide making it a snap to refill. The design feature of stainless heating element is nice here in Florida where our mineral content is high and build up can happen seemingly overnight.
But then I read the instruction manual. If you like your coffee rich and strong, this coffee pot will not allow you to make a full pot with some extra scoops. It overflows the top and jams the drip function. The gold filter holds even less ground than if you use paper filter without the gold filter. Your options are to only make less than a full pot or have your coffee less than strong.
The coffee is on the low end of acceptable temperature if you don't preheat the carafe or if you add unheated milk. In the morning I want my coffee pot to take care of me and not the other way around.
This morning was the last straw. The grounds overflowed (too much grounds I guess) and the autodrip wouldn't stop when I removed the carafe because grounds were jammed in it.
I wanted to love this coffee pot for the design and the price. It is going back to the vendor.
