The Fisher-Price Car Seat Dashboard with Remote Control is a brightly colored toy with “Baby Playzone” style graphics. It plays various soothing and exciting songs, has lights for visual stimulation, and different interactive activities. There is a beeping “horn” on the steering wheel, an attached squeeking phone and a teething key. The cover is made of soft, machine washable fabric.

There is an included remote control that allows Mom (or Dad!) to activate the lights and music remotely. Push the button once for lullabies, and twice for “playtime.” There are 4 different upbeat renditions of children’s classics such as Old MacDonald, and 4 different soothing lullabies. The remote is easily clipped to the sun visor in my car, just like my garage door opener. In fact, it greatly resembles a garage door opener in design.

The Fisher-Price Car Seat Dashboard with Remote Control claims to attach to “most” car seats, but it seems as though it is really only designed to fit car seats with lap bars. I found it rather easy to install, even though it does not fit well on our model of car seat at all. It attaches with Velcro straps, and my daughter quickly discovered on her own how to unfasten the toy. It isn’t very secure, but perhaps this is just because I don’t have a lap bar?

There is a volume control feature, but since the switch for it is located inside the cover, it is hard to get to. The Fisher-Price Car Seat Dashboard with Remote Control is not too terribly loud though.

It IS, however, somewhat annoying in my opinion. Although there are 8 different tunes, it feels extremely repetitious. The lights are not very bright at all, and not noticeable to my babies unless it is rather dark. They definitely need to be brighter for more stimulation.

My daughter has enjoyed the Fisher-Price Car Seat Dashboard with Remote Control to a point, but it wasn’t exactly the lifesaver I was hoping for. It isn’t a BAD product – it just doesn’t seem to have held her attention as much as I would have liked. We don’t even use it in the car anymore now for my younger daughter either. They play with it on the floor in the house, and that is only on a rare occasion. I think they have both “outgrown” this toy, so to speak. They’ve gotten all the benefits that they could from it, and are pretty much done playing with it.

Safety Information - “To prevent strangulation, never place product in a crib or playpen where baby could become entangled. Never add strings or ties to the product.”

There are no small parts that would be dangerous for babies.
