| melissabear's Full Review: Caress Tahitian Renewal Body Wash |
I absolutely love this product except for one major thing. First, the smell is fantastic. Its not too floral, not too fruity just a full bodied delicious scent that makes you want to inhale deeper.
The color of the product is a warm rich red and the actual body wash is a smooth gel with little flecks of pomegranate seeds which are supposed to help exfoliate your skin.
It lather is thick and bubbly and leaves your skin feeling super soft.
At under $4 for a 12 ounce bottle its like a mini-vacation right in your shower.
The bottle itself if sturdy plastic with a squeeze top. It is tall and does not take up much room in the shower, however when it gets down to the last little bit, you might want to leave it upside down which is not easy do do with the sloping cap.
The real problem that I have with this product however, is what they use to produce the rich red color. Listed on the ingredients as "Carmine Cl 75470" it is prepared from boiling dried out beetle bodies and then mixing with liquid with other chemicals. Vegetarians and vegans will have a problem with this ingredient, and carmine has also been known to cause severe allergic reactions in some people.
No matter how delicious a product might smell, I just cant see myself rubbing bug soup all over my skin.
