When Can We Go Back?

Pros:Gorgeous, comfy suites. Beautiful and fun pool area. Close to Orlando attractions.
Cons:Expensive in-hotel restaurants. Time-share pitch at info desk.
The Bottom Line: Love this hotel! Spacious suites and great location. A little pricey but worth the cost.

For 3 years in a row, my husband and I have attend the Family Cafe's conference, which caters to the needs of the disabled and their families. These past 2 years, it has been held at the lovely Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. Not only is it a perfect place to host a large convention like this one, but the rooms are superb. There are also excellent amenities, and location is great!

Just a few miles from all the major attractions, like Disney World and Sea World, the hotel has a gorgeous pool with waterfalls and slides. A jacuzzi is nearby, as is a two-story fitness center -- all you need are sneakers! There is a kids' squirting pool and playground area as well. Inside are several restaurants -- both fancy and deli-style, but both are quite expensive. I would recommend you walk across the street for either the pizza or Chinese restaurant if you can't drive a short distance to the major chain restaurants, like Outback Steakhouse or Red Lobster.

The lobby area is very elegant and the staff are very polite. Avoid the local information desk, however, as you will get plugged for a timeshare, no matter what you ask about!

The rooms are splendid -- all are suites with microwaves and refrigerators in most, and available upon request if not already in your room when you arrive. You walk into a living room area, with desk, sofa, armchair, and television. A small dressing area is across from the bathroom, in a small connecting area to the bedroom. You can close a door between the living area and the bedroom for privacy, if necessary. There are 2 double beds and another television in the bedroom. Also, depending on which way your room faces, you may just catch the local night-time fireworks shows from the theme parks! We had fun trying to pick out which park was which.

For hotel beds, these are relatively comfortable and the living room area is downright cozy -- it's like you're at home, only less household clutter! Room service is available but again, it's not cheap. If you do go for room service, order a pizza but expect a wait if the hotel is busy, such as during a conference.
