Today my son became a different child. He is just over 6 weeks old. Due to problems, I could not breastfeed and my son was given Enfamil with Iron because that is what WIC allows. He was fine until the second week when really bad colic set in. The doctor changed him to Prosobee and Little Tummys Simethicone Drops. There has barely been any difference. My doctor said that we will have to wait for my son to grow out of it. Since then, my son has barely sleep because of the pain he has been in. He screams in pain, pulling up his legs and making his body go rigid. The only this that would slightly help was rubbing his stomach but he would still cry in pain. Last night, after 6 hours of his screaming in pain, I decided that I needed to get him off the Prosobee and settled on Good Start. After only 1 bottle, it was like I gained a totally different baby. He has not screamed in pain and actually fell asleep on his own. He has not done this since the first week. I wish that the doctor told me about Good Start. I am just worried that WIC wont cover it. I find it strange that WIC would rather pay the more expensive price for Enfamil than Good Start.
