Pros: Super soft, super cute, very warm, just the right size
What better tribute than to write my 200th review on the eve of my son's fourth birthday...
Seems to me one thing people absolutely love to buy for babies is blankets. Whether bought or made you can bet a several baby gifts will be blankets. With my second little guy (four years ago now) a few co-workers went in on a gift basket for us and included of course... a blanket. As soon as I pulled out the super soft, super cute Cater's Sweet Baby Blanket I was in love.
Measuring 30" X 40" the blanket I have is a white fleece with the words "Sweet Baby" embroidered in soft colors. - Yes you read that right white... This is probably its number one downfall. There have been several times it has gone across something dusty or slammed in the car door and the dirt shows like crazy against the white. I have since washed it several times in regular wash cycles with no difficulty and all of the dirt has come out and holds up well in the wash. After four years of rigerous use, there is only one stained spot on the white blanket.
Now you may have felt fleece blankets in the past but I guarantee this is one of the softest. I can't even explain how cozy the Sweet Baby Carter's Blanket is. Since the fabric is so soft it makes a great place to lay baby down. We have cheap carpet in our play-room and hardwood floors in the rest of the house so the floor is not the most comfortable place to lay a baby. This blanket helped soften up those spaces.
Not only is this blanket soft it is also warm. See this is not *just *a fleece blanket it is double fleece meaning it has two thick fleece pieces sewn together. I could count on wrapping this around my little guy while we were outside and not worry about him getting cold. I also use it during the night since it is warm and a little heavier. My daughter now loves this blanket and insists in snuggling in it at night as well. It doesn't get kicked off as easily as other blankets I have used. Even during the summer I used it as hubby keeps our room cool at night saving me from having a cold baby wake up in the middle of the night.
Although I love fleece it does not like to be in our house with two cats and a dog. Fortunately enough, this particular blanket doesn't pick up too much hair though it does show the black dog hair more than others. For fall and winter babies I highly recommend finding a similar Carter's Baby Blanket.
