| ruffrydaz69's Full Review: Casio Cassiopeia EM-500 Pocket PC |
I am thirteen years old and asked for a Cassiopeia 500 for my birthday. I was originally looking at a MP3 player that could hold addresses and phone numbers, I then realized that I could get 10X the screen size and capabilities with a PDA. I was looking at a Compaq 1520 but then it mentioned it was mono sound, this was a bad thing because of my need to listen to music. I then spent days researching every PDA out there. It came down to a Jordana, Ipaq, or Cassiopeia. I looked at all the good things and bad things about all 3 PDA's. I discovered the Ipaq had a faster processor, and something that would let you see the screen in direct light. The Jordana did not have many features that I liked, so I forgot about that PDA. Now I had to look very closely at both PDA's, I came to a conclusion that I liked the Casio better. When I first saw the Cassiopeia next to the Compaq I think the blue Casio was way more attractive than the Compaq. Now I will stop comparing and tell you why you should buy the Cassiopeia.
When I opened the Cassiopeia box I felt the PDA and was amazed how solid it felt. Many people say it feels like a brick, this is wrong, it isnt light but it feels good in the hand. I carry my Cassiopeia in my pants pocket with no problem. The button layout is fantastic, I can play games like I'm playing on a Gameboy from 2050. The color screen is very bright and very nice to look at. I use the MP3 player a lot and it sounds just like anything else if not betetr. If your going to use the MP3 player plan on buying another battery and another memory card. I have a 64 MB memory card and it is great. I have used the video player also, it is amazing what you can see on this little thing! Microsoft word comes in handy also. I have written reports while my teachers are talking on and on about boring our US history. I use all the features on my cassiopeia except for Microsoft Money, I am thirteen so I dont have much financial problems except for when I'm getting allowance. If you are in your teens this is great becasue you can tell your teachers your writing your homework down and be playing a game of solitare. This product comes with Microsoft word, excel, money, calculator, movie veiwer, media player (MP3), pocket streets, AOL mail service (phone connection is required to send and retreive e-mail), Internet explorer, calendar, contacts, audible (you can download speaken or written books), picture veiwer, and now I'm out of breath. Every program works exceptionally.
