Pros: It is inexpensive.
Cons: It is too fine making it difficult to clean up.
The Bottom Line: This product created extra work for me...not my idea of a good purchase.

| RanPsych's Full Review: Cat's Pride Scoopable |
My husband and I finally agreed to adopt a kitten so our dog, Floyd, will have a playmate. We adopted Friskee when she was nine weeks old. That was in August. When we picked her up from a mutual friend's home, who found Friskee for us, and she provided us with some cat litter (I believe it was Scoop Away). Once we finished the bag, we decided to go to Publix and bargain shop. I also had a coupon for Cat's Pride. We were excited that it came in a 14 pound tub. It was such a great price that we purchased it for $5. We knew it was scoopable, which was a plus! However, once we filled Friskee's litter box, we noticed after about a day that the litter was everywhere. It was not because Friskee threw her litter out, it was because the litter was so fine that it easily spilled out of the litter box.
Another problem we found was that the litter was getting caught in Friskee's paws. She was constantly trying to remove the litter from the bottom of her paws. We felt so bad for her. Luckily, when we took her to the vet to get fixed, the doctor provided us with special litter until she heals from surgery.Once we went back to the original Cat's Pride litter, we decided to use it up and purchase a different brand for now on.
My husband and I agreed that cheaper is not always better. I think that it is worth paying a couple of extra dollars to make Friskee comfortable. It will also give me a break from vacuuming everyday. Not that I mind cleaning, because I really do enjoy it; however, I don't want to have to vacuum each day when I come home from work. I think we will be going back to Scoop Away. All new cat owners, take a second while you are choosing a brand of cat litter and think about what would be best for your cat as well as what is more convenient for you. I hope this information will be helpful. I hope that my experience will benefit your next choice in cat litter.
