I had a pair of these Caterpillar Sheffield TechniFlex Boots when they were popular for doing heavy duty work where safety and performance is a must.
My Experience
First thing I want to point out is that you will want to break them in because the leather is quite rigid. It took me about three months to break in these heavy duty work horses working forty hours a week. What I did to help endure the break in period I purchased steel toe socks to keep my feet from being sore from breaking in these shoes.
After the break in period these shoes were very comfortable to wear and they are easy to maintain.
I kept up the appearance of the Caterpillar Sheffield TechniFlex Boots by using some saddle soap to clean it and then using some black shoe polish to keep the shoes look presentable for corporate inspections.
I avoided losing my toes by wearing these the very end and part of the steel toe section the shoe on my right foot was ran over by cart with about five hundred pounds. I had to report to safety to make sure the steel toe was still solid. They tested it by some means I was liberty to know. Anyways, if I had not been wearing them I probably would be missing toes according to safety manager.
The Caterpillar Sheffield TechniFlex Boots hold traction on wet surfaces whether it be from oil or water like a champ.
I wore the Caterpillar Sheffield TechniFlex Boots for about three and half years and had to retire them because the tread was worn down. I still remember the day I had to retire the Caterpillar Sheffield TechniFlex Boots ... it was a sad day because of number one I still have my all my toes and thanks to these shoes right toes were not crushed.
Recommend
I would like to honor this product with a 100% Recommended to anyone who needs to protect their toes for OHSA regulations that lasted me about 42 months.
Final Thoughts
I find that the people who make Catepillar Boots make a superior product for reasonable price. I have other brands but none them have held up like this work horse beast called "Caterpillar Sheffield TechniFlex Boots" and if you want a dependable safety shoe go with this one.
