LILvoyce's Full Review: Celestial Seasonings Honey Van/Cham 20 Bags
I love most Celestial Seasonings Teas. They are straight up good teas, without the fancy individual packaging or drawstrings. If you can get past that, then I highly recommend these teas in most flavors.
Celestial Seasonings Honey Vanilla Chamomile
What your getting here is a caffeine free herbal tea. It smells heavenly when brewed. It sort of reminds me of a vanilla or lemon butter cookie. You know those ones you get from the girl scouts? The fragrance of this tea smells so yummy, I feel the need to grab some cookies when drinking this tea.
I steep mine for a few minutes, and use water brewed from my Senseo. I add exactly 8 oz of water to steep per tea bag. Your getting 20 tea bags in a box, and they come in a white pouch you must remember to close in order to retain freshness.
Once this tea is brewed, it reveals a golden rich color that tempts my taste buds. I enjoy it plain without sugar as well as with artificial sweetener. I enjoy mainly hot and sweetened. Sometimes I like to add a splash of cream or evaporated milk for an added creaminess. It tastes wonderful alone though. I just like that you can enjoy this tea in a number of ways.
Ingredients
Chamomile, orange peel, natural honey flavor with other natural flavors, (contains soy lecithin), licorice, Roasted Chicory and West Indian Lemongrass.
Taste
The chamomile is definitely the dominate flavor here. Although I can smell the lemongrass, I can't pick up its flavor when sipped. I do sense a vanilla and orange undertone, and the licorice flavoring is also barely noticeable. I am not familiar with Roasted Chicory so I don't know what I am looking for.
Overall, this tea is a light and aromatic golden tea. Not only do I enjoy the taste, but the aroma just as much. It taste very herbal, but the vanilla flavor makes it taste smooth and rich. After adding a bit of cream, it is simply addictive. This makes a wonderful breakfast tea, or a tea to compliment dessert time. I would serve it with butter cookies when I have company over.
I highly recommend this tea, It is one of the few on my top favorite list of herbal teas. Enjoy it, I did.
