Celestial Seasonings Tension Tamer Caffeine Free Herbal Tea piqued my curiousity one day. I couldn't resist Celstial's tension taming version. I have tried many of their other teas and was hoping this version was as good as their others.
Description of Product
What your getting is a caffeine free herbal tea that comes in a pretty blue box. These tea bags are not individually wrapped but come in a sturdy white pouch. Your not getting a draw string or tag. Your simply JUST getting good tea. Your getting 20 bags per box. Entire weight is 1.5 oz.
Your getting a "Soothing combination of ginger, chamomile and eluthero. Celestial Seasonings claims that the Chinese have used the eleuthero herb for centuries and that it gives a feeling of well-being, ...and the comforting flavors of peppermint and lemon."
Basically this tea is ment to comfort and relax you.
Ingredients:
The ingredients are all natural: Eleuthero, Peppermint, cinnamon, ginger, chamomile, west indian lemon grass, licorize, catnip, tilia flowers, natural lemon flavor with other natural flavors, contains soy lecithin, hops and vitamins b6 and b12.
My Experience
Celtial Seasonings Tension Tamer can be sipped either hot or cold. I enjoy it with or without sweetener. I prefer it hot. Without the sweetener I sense a strong lemongrass and ginger flavor. Adding the sweetener tends to tone the lemongrass down and lets the other flavors shine through. With your first sip you will sense lemongrass followed by a light flowery taste, then a licorice bite afterward. Chamomile also shines through there and the ginger compliments the flavor of the chamomile. I am not familiar with what Eleuthero is suppose to taste like. All I can tell you is this cup of teas was ever so pleasing to the taste buds. I see that in the ingredients it contains peppermint, I am not really tasting it nor the cinnamon here. I think the herbs tend to compliment each other so much that one flavor runs into the other. The taste is very unique. Your getting a perfectly light golden cup of tea.
I would like to tell you that this tea is calming, but with three kids, 2 dogs, and my 20 month old, I am always on my toes. I do however enjoy the aroma therapy this tea provides. I think in general Celestial Seasonings has the best aromatherapy for most of their teas. I really like Celestial Seasonings Tea. They are not big on their packaging but HUGE on taste. I highly recommend Tension Tamer ANY time of day. This tea goes well with well.. Chocolate confections, or cookie time. (That is just my opinion.) Enjoy!
Overall
This tea has won me over and I will be a purchaser of this product many times over. I highly recommend. It is light in taste and light golden in color.
