(I don't know how to write 0-0-0 - ew?) You have a ebay page up? Girl after my own heart! I will have to get back into that. Been on hiatus for about a year.

to you for another great addition to tours in the France you bring alive for us. As usual - a great and interesting tale as only you can tell it.

since I was last in that part of France. Hard to forget those underground caves filled to the brim with Champagne though, right? In one of them (think it was Möet), after we had traversed three of the tunnels full of bottles - and had to get through three more to get back - our guide said "Oh, by the way, if there is a slight flaw in one of the bottles, it can explode and set off a chain reaction down the whole corridor." Urgh. I found out later that it is true, but doesn't happen much any more. They inspect the bottles Very Carefully! At that point though, I gave up my ambition to be a bottle turner (unless I got a hazardous duty bonus.)

More than the wineries, I remember wandering around the small towns in the area, and the wonderfully friendly people. Not to mention several small shops selling heavenly pastries.

Thanks for the memories. For some reason, I am now hungry! Go figure.

Wonderful review, as always!

I might even say "tasty"--ah well, humor was never my strong point. Thanks for another great installment on Barbara's French Diaries. Always a joy.

I could use it after a hectic work day, although I'm too cheap to spring for the real 'Chamgagne'!
The champagne making process is fascinating, really quite involved! Well, you made my mouth water.....
