This is a great external hard drive that connects to your computer by a USB cable. It doesn't need an additional electrical power source so it makes it very convenient for travel. The black cherry (deep red) case it attractive, so it's fun to have around. It downloads fast, and it's very simple to use. Just plug and choose what you want to download. We take a lot of pictures and videos when we travel and I've had one of these in my laptop bag for years. It's easy to copy the downloaded stuff back to your PC if you desire. It works great with our netbook, too. It's pretty fast, and just about idiot proof since all you really have to do is plug it in and it pretty much sets itself up. All you need to do is choose what you want to copy/download to it.
I try to keep two copies of pictures and videos on different sources, so this external hard drive makes it a easy to do. It's slightly thicker than the Seagate Free Agent (which we also carry) and slightly heavier, but works equally as well. This model comes in a plastic case for added protection. People have commented on the attractive color, which is a good marketing tool.
In addition, if you need a back up copy of something that doesn't fit on a flash drive, and can't take a laptop with you, this is a great way to transport info. You can plug it into a computer whenever you are.
I recommend this external hard drive. They're often on sale, so check prices.
