| n_sani_t's Full Review: Chicago Chop House |
After hearing many wonderful things about this restaurant my party and I decided to go check it out. We were vacationing in Chicago and had been to many great places already. One of the party had been there for lunch a few months previous, and had nothing but good things to say, so we decided to go for dinner. The one person who had been there said that it was "a totally different place for lunch."
What can I say, the food, service, and atmosphere failed to live up to the reputation. We made a reservation and showed up a little early. When we arrived we were told that two of our party would have to wear house shirts (green polo shirts) because there was a no t-shirt policy (which we were not told about when we made reservations, nor from anyone previous).
As far as the food is concerned, I can fix a better steak than this, I ordered my filet prepared medium and got a charred steak. All this after our server gave an impression of arrogance and tried to shame me into ordering a larger steak.
I would recommend this place only for those who feel that they must go here because of its preceeding reputation, or those who want to pay too much for a steak.
For the amount of money you will spend, I'd suggest going to a different place and potentially saving a lot of money.
