I normally buy the cheapest knives I can find, thinking a knife is a knife is a knife. Wrong! My Chicago knives are my best "kitchen find" of the year. They are balanced and very comfortable to hold, but best of all the blade is razor sharp and even after over a year of almost daily use they haven't lost their edge.
Peel tomatoes in a flash! These knives are fantastic. I bought my set of these knives quite by accident. My husband tossed them in the basket while we were shopping and I didn't notice until I was at the checkout counter and found myself paying more for knives than I ever would have. I was a little miffed at him until I got them home and tried them.
I have 10 knives tossed in a drawer, but if I'm peeling or cutting anything, rather than use what I have in there, I'll hunt down the right Chicago knife for the job even if it means I have to dig it out of the dishwasher and hand wash it before using. They've cut and or peeled, hams, tomatoes, potatoes, flower stems, ribs, chicken, and everything in between all without losing any sharpness.
I'd like to give cons because a product usually has at least one or two, but in this case I simply can't. These knives are awesome and make a memorable addition to any kitchen.
I'll never go back to cheap knives. But then I may not ever have to buy knives again. The way these things are lasting, I'm set for life as long as I don't lose them!
