The Chicago Pneumatic air grinder model# cp872 was a great addition to my tool set! I needed a new die grinder and looked around for a week comparing different brands. I went to several different places and found what I was looking for at Sears for $65.00. You can now purchase them online for about $45.00. I have used Chicago Pneumatic products before and have not been disappointed so I decided to give it a try.
It's length is 5.75” and weight is 1.25 lbs. The sound level is 101 DBA (so get some ear protection). A great aspect of this product is that it directs the exhaust out the rear away from your project. Max speed is 22,000 RPM and there is an adjustable regulator to dial in your desired RPM. It also has a throttle lock off to eliminate accidental start up.
I have used this die grinder to cut steel, to polish aluminum, to remove burs from automotive parts, and clean up transmission pieces. I have used this grinder for several years and have had no issues or complaints. Don’t forget to oil your air tools daily. The price of this tool is well worth the performance and quality. You will not be disappointed.
