Being a huge fan of Chrome by Azzaro ... I ordered up some Chrome Legend thinking it would be a great addition to my scent library. I was very dissapointing by this cologne. First of all, for those fans of Chrome, this doesn't smell anything like it. It is very far away from that clean almost metallic smell of Chrome. This seems like a hodeg podge of different smells. Normally a cologne sticks to one 'theme' ... such as clean, citrusy, woody, etc. This cologne seems to do them all.

You will start out with a kind of mossy scent that also has some sweetness mixed in. It smells less like an offering from a legit cologne company and more like something you would get in one of those 'designer imposter' colognes that always have that gross sweet note mixed with almost a pine tree scent. That is what I get from Chrome Legend.

Ever since the amazingly popular Chrome, Azzaro came out with several different variations, none of which gained any kind of momentum or fanbase like Chrome. The Chrome Black and Chrome Legend are very flat scents and smell cheap compared with the distinctive classy scent of the original Chrome.

I usually judge a cologne based on how unique it is when compared to other colognes among other things such as staying power, value, etc. The staying power of Chrome Legend is not very good. It will be there (sort of) for an hour or two and then dissapate. Unlike Chrome, which is unmistakable when you walk in a room wearing it (like Abercrombie Fierce, Aqua de Gio and even original Polo by Ralph Lauren). Chrome Legend smells like it could be any one of a number of cheap colognes ... possibly even mixed together because of the several notes which just dont go together. Pine woodiness, citrusy crisp notes and sweet notes all blended together as if a mad scientist was mixing things together haphazzardly.

I would not say that this cologne would be worth the price ... although it is less expensive than the original Chrome. I should have tried this before buying it but figured I already knew what Chrome smelled like so this would just be a variation. You would not know the cologne was produced by the same companies. The name Chrome on this is pretty much false advertising, at least in my opinion. Avoid this one and stick with the original or go with something a little more balanced, thought out and unique.
