| hootolou's Full Review: Cingular Mobile Phone Service in Raleigh/Durham/Ch... |
I've had good experiences with Cingular/AT&T over the past couple years. I originally signed up for Cingular because a lot of my friends and family had it, and I wanted the free mobile to mobile benefits. Well that was 5 years ago and I still have Cingular which is now AT&T. I have bought several new phones as well, and it has always been a smooth transition.
I have always gotten great reception and never have dropped calls. I use my phone a lot for personal as well as business use, so the quality of my calls is very important to me and I have never been disappointed.
I have had very helpful customer service representatives as well. AT&T lets you change your phone number to a local number for free whenever you move, and I've moved several times. They give you your new number over the phone and then send you a new SIM card through the mail and it arrives a few days later.
The most helpful experience I have had with AT&T was last year; I was leaving the country for nine months and didn't want to pay for a plan I wasn't using. They suggested that I add my phone number onto someone else's plan as a $9.99 a month add-a-line. They walked me through transferring the account into my father's name and adding it to his account so that I was only being charged $10 a month and didn't have to close my account! This way I didn't have to pay a fee for cancelling my contract or get a new phone number. I was really impressed.
