| qwyley's Full Review: Cingular Mobile Phone Service in San Diego |
Cingular has been my cell phone carrier for over two years, and up until they were bought by ATT I had no major problems. Reception was never that good, but it was acceptable and as long as I was near a window I could answer and make calls. Cingular's customer service was always willing to help me, and their website was easy enough to get around and use. Ever since Cingular was bought by ATT a few months ago the service has gone downhill. I get even worse reception where I live, and in certain areas I can't make calls at all where I could before. Calls are randomly dropped, even in areas where I have four or five "bars" of reception. Web browsing on my phone has also decreased substantially in speed, and often it won't work at all. Texting and multimedia messaging has also gotten worse, with some of my messages never reaching the people who I sent them to. Also, the new ATT Wireless website is way more confusing and hard to use than the old Cingular site, and I often have to give up without finding the information I wanted. I have spoken with many people who have Verizon and T-Mobile cell phone service, and all of them get better reception in San Diego County.
