Pros: Smells great, feels great, surprisingly inexpensive, lightened my hair shade.
Cons: More tangles in my hair than I've ever had before. Is it the herbs?
The Bottom Line: An incredible smell and lovely slight sheen, but also ups the tangles to an unexceptable degree. Give it a try, but only if you don't mind combing out the knots.

| sisterpink's Full Review: Clairol Herbal Essences Clarifying for Normal To O... |
Unfortunatly, unlike the ad campaigns, Herbal Essences doesn't make you go into throws of rapturous excstacy, but it does get your hair clean and has a wonderful smell.
The two best things about Herbal Essences are definately the smell and the price. It smells like herbs (hence the name) and flowers, a smell which lasts even after being rinsed out.
Ringing in at slightly over $3, it's extremely good quality for the price, and there's enough in the bottle to last even someone with tons of hair like me quite a while.
Sheen is moderate, and oddly enough, the shampoo appears to have lightened my hair colour slightly. How did it do that? Perhaps it's some reaction due to the shampoo's chemicals. It is a strange thing for a shampoo to do, though.
Application is pleasent because it foams perfectly, and I honestly don't think my hair has ever been this clean before because of the level of sqeaking it made while I rinsed the shampoo out of it. Sounded like someone had trod on a mouse.
The one qualm I have with Herbal Essences is the amount of tangles it's added to my hair, even a day after using it. I've never had these many knots in my hair before. If you do decide to buy it, you might want to buy a detangling solution to use with it.
Nice smell, nice shampoo, but watch out for those knots, which were bad enough for me to knock its rating down one whole star.
