I had a Clarins makeover. After I bought Le Rouge lipstick which I liked a lot at the time and still do I felt that I needed a gloss over it. The woman doing my face tried Clarins Color Gloss and I loved it immediately.

This .25 ounce tube costs $19.00. Like other Clarins products the gold theme is on this gloss in the way of the top.

The website www.clarins.com says that this is available in two shades: crystal and sunlit. That is incorrect. You can go to www.sephora.com and see the colors which are fairly accurate. I have 05 which is called Rose Quartz.

The make up artist was staying in the pink family. The lipstick I bought was also in the pink family so this gloss went really nicely over the lipstick while I was sitting in the chair at Macy’s.

Other colors including crystal are pearl, sunlit, topaz, ruby, and amethyst.

My experiences:

This has a sponge top applicator. What I like a lot about this applicator is that it is angled so it goes on nicely.
Colour Gloss can definitely be worn alone. In fact if I weren’t having a makeover I am more the gloss type than the lipstick type.

It gives me a great shine I will say that and over the lipstick it looks sensational. Alone though it doesn’t feel that comfortable. It feels sticky on my lips. It lasts a long time but I’d rather it not last as long and be less sticky.

This gloss will go fairly quickly in the tube. I’ve only had it for about 3 months and it is almost gone. Considering I don’t use it daily I’m surprised.

So the good news is that it is glossy and gives me shine. The bad news is that it isn’t comfortable, goes on sticky and feels sticky.

My rating:

I am not recommending Gloss Colour. I wouldn’t buy it again. It’s a hard balance finding a lip gloss that is long lasting and not sticky and this one doesn’t fit the bill.
