Pros: Didn't harm me.
Cons: Did close to nothing for my symptoms. Ridiculous price for 5 tablets
The Bottom Line: I fully expected this product to alleviate most if not all of my allergy symptoms. Unfortunately it did very little.

| Suzer's Full Review: Claritin 24 Hour Allergy Pediatric Reditabs 10 Eac... |
My allergies seemed to kick in when I hit thirty years old. My sister had allergies all her life, and I just assumed she had taken on the burden for the family, and I was getting away scott-free. Alas it just didn't happen that way. I'm not sure what sets them off, and it isn't a particular season/time of year. I just get congested, sniffly, sneezy, headachey and miserable. And no, there will be no dogs or cats leaving the abode. I told them no more shedding, and the kitties are to be danderless, but that is all the responsibilities I am placing on the pets.
Anyway, I woke up miserable the other weekend, and didn't want to hassle with a grocery store, so went to the 7/11 near my house. I noticed the Claritin there-it said Non Drowsy, and that it was prescription strength. That made me happy, and I couldn't wait to get home, and swallow those puppies, and feel great.
What problems do they claim to alleviate (from packaging)?:
This product states that your sinus and nasal congestion will go away, as well as your sneezy, runny nose, itchy and watery eyes, itchy throat or nose. I was surprised to see that it contains both decongestant and antihistamine, yet causes no sleepiness. I thought antihistamines caused you to get drowsy.
Ingredients:
Loratadine 10 mg / Antihistamine Pseudoephedrine Sulfate 240 mg / Nasal Decongestant
They also note that Claritin will eliminate your symptoms of hay fever or other upper respiratory allergies.
Their directions for use:
Don't do anything to the tablets-in other words, don't try to melt them, cut them, divide them, just take them as they are.
For adults and children 12 years and over 1 tablet daily with a full glass of water; not more than 1 tablet in 24 hours.
For kids under 12 years of age ask a doctor

My experience:
As I indicated earlier I was anxious to take the Claritin, and feel better. I guesstimated that I would feel better within a half hour or so. Well it took about an hour to get any change at all. The Claritin simply dried up my nose a little, as well as my throat (dry mouth), but did not alleviate the congestion at all. I still couldn't breathe from my nose; still had a headache. Okay, the dryness lasted for the promised 24 hours, but the congestion never went away.
Final thoughts and recommendations:
I am, needless to say, disappointed in this product. When a company tells me a product is prescription strength, and makes the other claims they do, I have certain expectations. I'm glad I wasn't sniffly, but wanted to breathe. I have had much better success with otc products such as Benedryl. It does clear me up completely. Of course it makes me drowsy too. I am giving this product 2 stars, as it did not eliminate all of my symptoms. However, my guess is that others will be happy with the product, and get the relief they hope for, so it is worth a try for others. It can be purchased at (much) lower cost online, or you can find at the grocery store or drugstore, convenience store.
