100 + Applications!
On the front of this cleanser, it says 100+ Applications. Being a frequent user of bubble-bath, I've learned to be my own judge when amount of applications is listed on the front. Since I mix up my routine a bit, I've gotten two years out of this five dollar tube. Many many more than 100+ Applications. Their suggested portion size is about the diameter of a dime. I feel this works very well for me. It is a fair amount, and it fully lathers your face.
30 Seconds.
Because this cleanser was designed to help treat acne, it mainly works by drying out your skin to reduce oil. If you're going to use this, I suggest you don't massage this cleanser into your face for the full 30 seconds. Try it out yourself. If you've tried this product and have decided it dries out your face too much, try it again in the shower. Basically, lather it on for a few seconds, and then immediately rinse it all off.
Another tip may be to alternate this product with others. Since I only wear powder for make up to work, I usually refrain from using Clearasil in the morning. I most often use a moisturizing cleanser. In the evenings, I use Clearasil, when I don't have to worry if my skin looks dry.
Important Fact:
When I was a teenager, I always thought that oily skin caused my bad complexion, and that I shouldn't use a moisturizer to make it even more "oily." Little did I know, the more you dry your skin out to avoid acne, the more oil your face produces to compensate for the dryness. So, after you use a cleanser, it is a good idea to occasionally, if not always, follow with a water based moisturizer. This step makes your face feel the moisture and doesn't have to generate extra oils.
Facts for the Record:
This info is straight from the tube, and only for information and deciding purposes.
Directions: Wet face and squeeze a small amount into palm of hand. Add water and work into foamy, rich lather. Gently massage lather onto face with fingertips for approximately 30 seconds, adding more water if necessary. Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Use 1-2 times daily.
Active Ingredient: Triclosan 0.30% W/W.
Other Ingredients: Water, glycerin, potassium myristate, potassium sterate, potassium palmitate, sodium lauroyl sarcosinate, lauric acid, polyquaternium-10, pentasodium pentetate, tetrasodium etidronate, aloe barbadensis gel, fragrance.
You may or may not have notice that water is the main ingredient. It's good that it's not some harsh chemical, even though, I'm sure, in all of those big words, there are a fair amount of harsh chemicals.
Final Thought:
I'm glad the inventors at Clearasil came out with this product. It helps me contain break-outs, and rids me of redness quickly.
