KMINER's Full Review: Clinique Anti Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream
We all have to start somewhere when we decide to add any treatment to our beauty routine. I started noticing this year ( I turned 30) that I was getting small lines that were not going away under my eye area. I noticed that my foundation would really seem to set into them and accentuate them (at least to me) and I also noticed them a lot when I was home without makeup. It was time to do something about them.
I happen to have a stash of extras and samples from different companies in my cupboard, so I started looking around - Clinique Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream was one of the first ones that I had. After trying Prescriptives Super Line Preventor, and being completely unsatisfied, I tried this Clinique product in hopes that a cheaper, though still counter, eye product would work. And overall it has - it certainly hasn't changed anything dramatically in my face, but I will continue to use it until I find something better. Whether I do find anything that performs better is a question I can't answer yet.
Clinique Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream - Lay It On Me
It comes in a nice light green tub. I have 2 tubs of this and both are the smaller, GWP size. Even the full size comes in a tub with screw off lid. I don't really prefer having to stick my finger in there - I wish this product came with a small pump or in a small squeeze tube.
The product is a cream, not runny, but not thick and unworkable either. It has tiny bits of pearlesent in it, but is mostly white. It will add just a tad of shimmer to your skin (similar to Prescriptives Magic line, or similarly named Anti-Gravity Cream also by Clinique). It rubs easily onto my skin and leave a nice soft finish. It is not greasy and really stays put. It does not leave a huge shine or wet area. It soaks in well, within minutes. It has no major smell, but overall is pleasing. My under eye areas always immediately looks better and with less defined lines after I use this. I can use Clinique's Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream also under my foundation, with no issues of slipping, oil or irritation. Since it is a cream it just fades away over time. I do notice I have to apply 2 times each day - usually once in the morning and again in the afternoon or before bed.
What Clinique Says
Known for their wealth of product information and details, I again turned to a Clinique consultant in email form to ask some questions about this product I was using. When I asked what the feel it is, I got:
"Clinique's ANTI-GRAVITY FIRMING EYE LIFT CREAM is a state-of-the-art anti-aging eye cream. This rich cream firms, hydrates and comforts the delicate eye area. It helps to lift and firm the skin all around your eye area, both immediately and over time. It also works to reduce eyelid crepiness and noticeably reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles, while intensely moisturizing the eye area. Green tea extract and antioxidants such as Vitamins C and E help protect the skin from environmental damage. Plus, it works to brighten the eye area to help reduce redness and dark circles."
Their suggestion on usage I mostly follow, though I do not use this product in conjunction with other Clinique products as they typically suggest.
"For the best results, use your Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream both AM and PM. Using your ring finger, pat on sparingly from just under the eyes to brow bone and crease (a smooth "C" motion), and blend gently. "
I must say, I mostly use this cream under my eye, though have made the "C" motion and put on my brow area, etc at times at night. Since my lids can tend to get oily enough on their own, I hesitate to do this frequently. I don't quite get the advice to use my ring finger - it is a fairly unnatural feeling to me and not a breeze to do, so I mainly use my middle finger for this.
Again, My Results
Immediately after I use my Clinique Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream I notice my under eye area has less lines. But at the end of the day, my eyes overall have seemed to look the same, like I had never used any product. I felt this way for about the whole first month I used it, and debated whether it was worth the investment. I have recently noticed though, after almost 2 months of use, that it seems to me the under eye area overall is looking less creased and the lines softer (one of them to me always looked rather deep). So I am feeling now that over time this product is having a more positive effect on my skin. I am not certain if this is typical of all eye treatments, though I have read a lot about them on-line to learn that in may be. I am still holding out for a miracle product that will show results within days - it may just be wishful thinking.
I am glad that I have found something fairly easy to use and find. It has not irritated my skin at all, and has been nothing but an overall positive effect on my skin. On the whole, using Clinique Anti-Gravity Firming Eye Lift Cream has been a positive experience for me.
