If you're looking for a really good face power that doesn't give you a 'porcelain' look Cliniques Blended Face Powder is the best powder I've tried.  

Granted it isn't the cheapest, it cost me $20 but it will probably last a full year, if not longer.  I recommend only buying clinique products when they are having a promotion as you usally only have to spend about $20 to get $60 in free products, and it gives you a chance to try out their products for free and some of them are full size.  
I use this powder as a way to "set" my makeup but you could also use it without a foundation at all as a way to mimimize your pores.  

You can get all different colors of transparency depending on how much coverage or color you'd like.    This powder also does a really good job at controlling oil and shine.  I don't have oily skin but I have combination skin so it can appear oily if I don't wear make-up.  I wouldn't depend on this to cover up imperfections or to even out skin tone, it doesn't seem to help with that at all.   It come with an applicator brush, the kind that you take off the lid, spin the bottom and a brush comes out.  But I recommend buying one of those big brushes that you can use for blush as well an over all face powder.  



I would recommend this Clinique face power to set your make-up and control oil because it does a perfect job at that.  Also, Clinique will usually let you exchange any item if you have problems with it so it doesn't hurt to try it.
