I discovered Clinique City Cover Compact Concealer when I was a senior in college. I've had pretty average skin throughout my teenage years- plenty of blemishes, and dark under-eye circles from too many all-nighters in college. Before using this concealer, I'd used drugstore brands...and, even after applying about a pound of the chalky stuff just to cover the redness and blueness, it would wear off after about an hour! Plus, none of those concealers even came close to the actual color of my skin, so instead of red spots on my face, there would be these little, funky-pinkish-beige spots, even after blending it...not much of an improvement!

Then, when I was a senior in college, I got this really big pimple on my face before I had to give a presentation, and *gasp* I was OUT OF CONCEALER! My roommate, being the saint that she was, loaned me her Clinique City Cover Compact Concealer. I opened the compact, and noticed immediately that it was actually a color resembling skin! Shocked, I dabbed a little bit on my finger and put it on my pimple...and presto! It was SO much less noticeable and SO covered! I was hooked, went to buy some for myself, and have been using it ever since.

There are a lot of reasons why Clinique City Cover Compact Concealer is great. First, it comes in a handy, and attractive, little green compact. (Surprise, no?) It's small and square-shaped, so it could easily fit into your purse or pocket for mid-day (or mid-date!) applications.

The little applicator brush that comes with it is really too stiff to work effectively, but if you use your finger to apply the concealer, that works much better. You can blend more easily that way, anyway.

The consistency of this concealer is wonderful- it's very thick and creamy, and not TOO greasy. It won't dry out and look like chalk on your face, in other words. However, if you wear it and perspire, or if you have very oily skin, it might not last as long. Otherwise, if you put it on in the morning and set it with some powder, it's thick enough that it will probably stay put all day and not flake or brush off. I use it just with powder, but if you wear this under foundation, you could very probably hide your entire NOSE under this stuff! ;)

Another great thing about this is that the colors it comes in blend excellently with skin. Even though it only comes in four colors, each color works with a range of skin tones. For instance, my roommate in college was biracial (African American and Caucasian), and I'm very-fair-skinned Caucasian, and her concealer still worked for me. "City Fair" is the color I ended up buying, though, and it is PERFECT for fairer skin. My mom (a redhead with true "redhead skin") even loves my concealer!

In short, Clinique City Cover Compact Concealer is excellent. It might be a little more expensive than the drugstore brands, but one compact will last a long time, and it's well worth it.
