petunia0384's Full Review: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotio...
I bought this famous moisturizer as part of the Clinique 3-step skincare system. My skin is Type II (dry cheeks, oily t-zone), and I use it following the cleanser and toner. I find that I only need this product sparingly. When I use it, I pump once into my hand, rub it with my other hand, and apply it to my cheeks. Thats it. I dont even put it near my t-zone, which tends to be oily. It doesnt absorb as quickly as some other products, but it shouldnt hinder your makeup routine too much. Since I only use one pump twice a day, this bottle will last me a while. If you put too much on, it will take a long time to absorb and you will feel like you have layered vegetable oil onto your face, so be warned.
This comes in two sizes, 1.7 oz. and 4.2 oz. The 1.7 is either in a bottle or a tube, and the 4.2 is in a square bottle with a pump, a silver cap, and a silver C on the front. The pump version is the one that I have. I find the pump to be a bit problematic. It seems to shoot too far! They need to work on that. The liquid itself is a creamy yellow, and its fairly thin, considering the deep moisturizing that it does. I think its thinness helps when rubbing it in.
It is allergy tested, fragrance free, and clinically formulated by dermatologists. As far as fragrance free items go, this one hits the mark. It is meant to soften, smooth, and improve the texture and condition of your skin (according to the bottle). It does not have some of the benefits that other moisturizers have, such as SPF or anti-aging properties. Im 21 years old and I still get kids menus at restaurants, so Im not too concerned about the anti-aging thing. In fact, I steer clear of anti-aging stuff, because I might turn back into a baby (only kidding, of course). The SPF doesnt really concern me either, as my makeup contains it. However, I realize these properties may be important to some people, so I thought I would mention that. This is strictly a moisturizer, and its good at that, but if you need those other properties, you might want to look into something else in the Clinique line.
It makes my skin soft and smooth, and the perfect palette for makeup application. It, along with the toner, has eliminated my problem with flakes on my cheeks. It has not caused me any trouble with breakouts, which I am prone to.
Unfortunately, I do not have a list of the ingredients because they are not on the bottle, and they are not on Clinique's website. I imagine they were on the pretty flowery box it came in, but I tossed that out.
You may purchase the 4.2 oz. pump version at your local Clinique counter, or at www.clinique.com for $23. Those of you with oily skin may want to consider the gel version of the product if trying the 3-step system. :) I do recommend the 3-step system. You can also see my review of the toner from the system. If you're interested in trying it yourself, visit your local Clinique counter for a skin typing by a representative. :)
