I had the great fortune to be given as a gift Clinique Moisture Surge Eye Gel. I have used very few eye-area products in the past, but since using this eye gel I do believe I'm hooked!

~ What Clinique Says

Clinique says this eye gel instantly floods thirsty eye area skin with moisture, restoring balance, and plumps up fine, dry lines.

This eye gel can be used under or over makeup, and can be used whenever needed.

~ Packaging

Clinique Moisture Surge Eye Gel comes in a pink, .5 fl. oz. tube, and sits on its silver, screw-off cap. The cap can be screwed on tightly, and the small tube will travel well in your purse or makeup bag

Take off the cap, and you'll see the pointed applicator with a very small opening from which to dispense the eye gel. This small opening controls the gel very nicely, and it's easy to get just the right amount on your fingertip.

~ How Well Does it Work?

This eye gel is almost colorless and nearly clear, with no detectable fragrance. The tiniest bit on your fingertip will cover one eye, underneath as well as the eyelid to brow area. The gel glides on smoothly and is absorbed quickly, leaving no greasy or shiny residue.

I've been using this now for about three weeks, under my makeup in the mornings, and then reapplying before bed. I've found using the gel before applying makeup helps my eye makeup go on more smoothly. The skin around my eyes is smoother and less dry.

But here's when I really knew for sure that Clinique Moisture Surge Eye Gel was making a difference in the skin around my eyes. After just a few days of using this, I woke up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes - and I could actually feel a dramatic difference in my eye area skin! I mean I noticed it, even in my sleepy condition. Woah, my eyes feel different (the skin)! Softer, smoother.

I went to the mirror just to see if I could SEE any difference, but sadly, there really wasn't any visual difference in the skin around my eyes. Yes, the skin around my eyes felt dramatically improved, but I'd have to say I was imagining any visual difference.

Although I did a little pinch test, pinching a tiny bit of skin underneath my eyes, and the pinched part flattened out quickly, which tells me the skin is now more hydrated. I can remember a couple times pinching this skin slightly with the eyelash curler, and the pinched skin would just sit there all pinched up and not flatten out for a while. So I could see a difference in that way.

I was unable to find an ingredient list for this product. It is oil-free. Clinique also says this is allergy tested, 100% fragrance free, and ophthalmologist tested. It's suitable for all skin types

~ Final Thoughts

Clinique claims this product "plumps fine, dry lines." Well, maybe just a little bit in my case. But I can say for certain that the skin around my eyes is softer, smoother, and more hydrated since I've been using this eye gel. My eye makeup goes on smoother. I will be purchasing another tube of this.
