jodynu3's Full Review: Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara
Over the years, Ive tried many drug store mascaras and have become very frustrated with the constant clumping. It seems no matter how much mascara I try to wipe off of the brush, my eyelashes are still clumpy and I often have to remove the mascara and start all over again. A few years ago, I received Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara for my birthday. Ever since then, this has been my everyday mascara.
THE MASCARA
Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara comes in a silvery chrome-like tube, nothing fancy here. The mascara is available in only two shades Jet Black and Jet Brown. The cost is $12.00 per tube and it can be purchased at any Clinique counter in a department store or you may find Clinique products for sale on the Internet.
The brush on the mascara wand looks ordinary, its not curved at all. It seems to have more bristles on it than other mascaras that I have tried, maybe this is how it separates my lashes so well. I dont have to wipe off any excess mascara, I just remove the wand from the tube and apply. Application is so simple - no strategic methods needed to prevent clumps, just apply!
MY THOUGHTS
Clinique.com claims that Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara lengthens, glosses, enhances. Lashes stay silky, pliant, clump and flake-free through multiple coats.
The Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara is easy to apply and goes on without any clumping or flaking. It lengthens my lashes a bit, but not too much the look is still very natural. The mascara does not curl or thicken my lashes, they just look defined a bit longer and darkened. This look is perfect for everyday, although I am still looking for a weekend mascara something with a little more oomph that will curl and make my lashes stand out more.
There is no flaking or smudging either. I dont know if my lashes actually look glossy, but I do agree that they are silky and natural. My lashes do not feel stiff or dry and it almost feels as if I am not wearing mascara at all! I love this mascara because it separates my lashes wonderfully and gives such a natural look. I love how there is no excess mascara on the brush no blobs or clumps and I am willing to pay more for this! In fact, many drug store mascaras I have tried have run me between $5-$9, so I do not really feel like $12.00 is excessive.
I have never experienced any irritation using this mascara nor have I had any problems with removal. One cotton ball with some Eye Make-Up Remover is all it takes for me. I do wish that this mascara came in a waterproof formula, I would definitely purchase it.
