Am surely dating myself, when I tell you at 17, I snuck into a rated "X" showing of "A Clockwork Orange" and was blown away from the power of the message that this movie had in it. It was not about the bopping and the sexcapades and all that British bad boys breaking in and out and about.
So much about humans, and the lengths they will go to and how we had decided that we knew best how to change another man. How to make another man absolutely revolted at the very sight of what he had thought he wanted more than anything else in life...the old "in-out." Yet what did we indeed do to that poor lad, did we solve his problem, no we made him so sick and SO "converted" into the world of "us" and "normalcy" that he could no longer "be" a person of humanity. He could no longer live in the world that the rest of us lived in. We destroyed in him the things that were in every single one of us. This movie should not be missed by any child of 16 in the world!!! Then they should be able to talk about it afterwards with freedom and honesty.
