About Me: SAHM to my 2 girls.

My baby is a Cloth baby!

Written: Oct 05 '00
Pros:Thick, highly absorbent, high quality cloth diaper made by 2 wonderful WAHM's. Diapers are VERY absorbent and come in cute prints!
Cons:Can be pricey and shipping is from Canada. (BUT...It's worth it!!)

Anyone in the WAHM (work at home Mom) cloth diapering world will tell you, it can be difficult to get your hands on a Cloth Baby diaper, but once you do, the wait is so very well worth it!

I finally got my hands on 2 Cloth Baby diapers. One new on auction and an AIO (All In One) that I ordered on the day (yes, one day only) that Cloth Baby was open to orders. We've been only using them a short time now, but I have to say all the raves I have heard about these, I now see why 9 times out of 10, moms pick this as their "favorite" brand of cloth diaper.

Cloth Baby Interlock Diaper

"You know that old T-shirt that's just way too comfortable to ever throw away? Cloth Baby Interlock diapers are made from interlock that stays soft, just like your favourite old T-shirt. Each diaper has a total of eight layers of interlock, one layer of thirsty, towel weight terry, one layer of Polartec fleece against your baby's skin and a cute cotton print on the outside, making this a very absorbent diaper! Edges are serged with woolly nylon thread to be soft on your baby's skin. You can choose front snaps or side snaps. Soakers can snap into place with the wide end at the back for girls or at the front for boys so the extra absorbency is right where your baby needs it. "

The quote on their home site couldn't be anymore true. This diaper has got to be the squishiest, smooshiest, softest, high quality made WAHM cloth diaper I have ever laid my eyes on. If you saw this diaper and didn't know it had been made by a mother who stays home and sews diapers, you'd swear and "profession, high quality clothing company" had made this. These diapers look as if they are "built to last". And so far have proved to be very durable.

These diapers are now made to come in 2 sizes, that way, you will only have to change sizing once if you was to plan to use these as your main diaper in your cloth diapering stash. The sizes and their prices are as follows:

Infant (with prints) (fits approx. 8-20+ lbs.) $10.85 US (or $15.50 Canadian)

Infant (plain white with or without colored serging) $9.45 US ($13.50 Canadian)

Toddler (with prints) (fits approx. 20 lbs. up) $12.25 US (or $17.50 Canadian )

Toddler (plain white with or without colored serging) (fits approx. 20 lbs. up) $10.85 US (or $15.50 Canadian)

The absorbency of the Cloth Baby regular Interlock Diaper was great when I used it at night time just the other night. It has a very thick fleece topped doubler inside, which kept my baby dry. I mean, the diaper was soaked up in the front when she woke up, but as I changed her and felt the inside of her diaper, it was as dry as a bone and so was her skin! So I will defiantly use this Cloth bay a lot at night. If you know it's THIS absorbent at night, imagine how great it will be to use it during the day without a cover around the house!

Cloth Baby also offers a variety of adorable prints, plus you can get plain white diapers with your choice of many different colored serging around the outer. I am a print fan myself, but either way, you have yourself a very wonderful and absorbent diaper!

I also noticed, the Cloth Baby AIO (I would review it but it doesn't have it's own category yet) is the same thickness as the Cloth baby regular Interlock Diaper and it fits trim under my daughters clothes. I don't have to worry about a bulging bottom sticking out of her pants. She looks as if she is wearing a disposable! I went to a relatives house with it on her once and no one knew the difference until I showed them! And you just HAVE to show these babies off!

Anyone looking for a high quality cloth diaper, made by one of two WAHM's or if your child is a heavy wetter, these Cloth baby's are great! And now I see why almost all of my cloth diapering mama friends listed Cloth baby as one on their "Top 10" list!

One more huge rave about Cloth baby. And anyone who has ever bought a Cloth baby from either of the two WAHM's who make them, Laura and Christine, anyone will tell you, they have probably have the best customer service around! They are very, extremely professional, without being too professional, and treat you as if you were family! We called in a VISA order once over the phone through their 800 number, and Laura's husband (I'm guessing?) answered the phone and took our VISA number and was carrying on a conversation about the weather and so on and our diaper was shipped quickly after that! A+ customer service! Excellent! I highly recommend a Cloth baby diaper to anyone! Even if you don't use cloth!
