Pros: This is okay because the animation is still kepp the kids laughing.
Cons: Some of the scenes send the wrong message of looting and police abuse.
The Bottom Line: It's really hard to recommend this movie because of the underlying messages that it sends to kids, but it's still a lot better than a lot of the other films.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie''s plot.
What started out to be a funny was still a funny one at the end but apparently someone forgot to tell the producers that we were trying not to give our children any ideas about what to do during a disaster or when they are dealing with cops. I really do not think that in the book about this movie they do not shot looting and cops beating civilians. The kids that watched this show I am sure that they did not notice that the producers were showing them this.
Just to give you an idea there were a couple of scenes that where one time it shows a policeman tackling a civilian and proceeded to induce some real harm and the suspect is not even resisting. The other scene is during a spaghetti tornado and a disaster, the tornado is wiping out the whole town and the characters start to loot the stores by breaking glass windows and stealing televisions. I do not think that this is a good message that we are trying to through our kids.
The main message about this movie is a good one though. It is mainly about a son that is forever trying to get his dad’s approval about what he wants to do in life. All the father wants his son to do it to come with him and work in his bait and tackle shop but the son just wants to be himself.
This whole move surrounds itself around an inventor or wanna be inventor whos inventions are always failing when he finally stumbles across a way to make it rain food when someone orders it. But, as time goes by the food gets larger and large beyond comprehension. The actor that I found very familiar is James Caan, who is the voice of Tim Lockwood the father (who does not have any faith in his son) of Flint Lockwood the voice of Bill Hader. Other important voices are Anna Faris who is the voice of Sam sparks who is a new be weather reporter. She befriends Flint and is the only one who believes in him.
Other characters are: Andy Samberg plays Baby Brent, Bruce Cambell plays Mayor Shelbourne, Mr. T plays the police officer Earl Devereaux, Bobb’e Thompson plays Cal Devereaux, Benjamin Bratt plays Manny, Neil Patrick Harris plays Steve, Al Roker plays Patrick Patrickson, Lauren Graham plays Fran Lockwood the mother,Will Forte plays Joe Towne, Max Neuwirth plays Young Flint, Peter Siraguasa plays Rufus, and Angela Shelton plays Regina Devereaux.
This is quite a cast of actors and actresses and the animation is excellent. If it were not for the underlying messages this would have been and excellent kid movie. This is rated PG but I think that it should have left out a few scenes that send the wrong messages to our children.
This is a movie that will last 90 minutes, don’t get me wrong my daughter did laugh throughout the whole movie but there were scenes that I thought that could have been left out and this movie would have been just as enjoyable. If they would have left them out then this would have been a five star movie but since these scenes are in this movie I can only give two stars.
