Pros: Sleek, 10 band function
Cons: Not loud enough, Not sensitive in hilly or forrest area
The Bottom Line: bottom line is don't be fooled by rebates or silver high tech appearance. Buy the good stuff. ie: valentine 1 or the passport which i bought yesterday.

| deftdrummer's Full Review: Cobra Electronics ESD 9110 Radar Detector |
I bought this radar detector after my other one got stolen a while back. I used to have a whistler, and I love it. I don't really know why I decided to buy the cobra this time around, but I think that the $10 rebate had something to do with it as well as it's sleek silver layout.
The first thing I noticed about the ESD-9110 was that when displaying freequency, it didn't display a meter bar like the whistler did saying how close you were to the source. The cobra had something like that, but it was only indicted by a # 1-5. I didn't think this would be a problem, but it wasn't too helpful at a glance as the whistler was. On top of that, when My music is up loud (which it is 90% of the time) i can't even hear the damn thing. It really doesn't go very loud at all, and not only that but the display does not give any good warning flashing indicators.
It wasn't until recently that this radar detector started giving false warnings EVERYWHERE around my medium sized town. Even the places i know there is no radar it will go off. Not only that, but with the trees and hills, I see the cops before the radar detector goes off. Mine is for sale on ebay right now and im buying "the best" according to www.radartest.com which would be the passport.
